This Week in Weddings

Ah, it's finally Friday! I know if I were still at my job, instead of home on maternity leave, this day would have come with much anticipation, especially with the impending three day weekend ahead. So congratulations working world, you made it to yet another Friday, which gives you reason to celebrate! So instead of running out and spending your hard earned cash at a gimmicky President's Day Sale, let's kick off the weekend with a look at fabulous wedding celebrations featured around the web this week.

This first wedding, featured on Ruffled Blog, caught my eye with it's vintage accents, bright colors and sweet "love bug." Then the couple stole my heart with their romantic story and traveling gnome! Photography by Frenzel Photographers.

This adorable engagement shoot comes from Grey Likes Weddings and features the work of Meagan from The Collective Photographers. I love that when looking at these photos, I can feel the genuine love this couple shares.

What stood out for me in this Minneapolis wedding by Just Bloomed was the unique color palette, the use of typography and those shoes! Yowza! I adore this wedding photographed by Erica Loeks Photography featured on Style Me Pretty.

Sigh...I just love weddings. Happy weekend!

Fancy Feet

I love the idea of embellishing clothing items I already have to make them into something new. I'll admit that I was a big fan of puffy paints on clothing in the early 90's. Simple crafts that turn your everyday clothes into something "totally radical" is one idea I can always stand behind. I guess that's what I adore about these cute shoe clips from The Headband Shoppe. Using your own loved pumps or flats you can add these little gems to spice up your footwear. The Headband Shoppe uses mostly feathers for their clips, but fabric flowers, burlap, jewels and studs are awesome accessories too. So easy and so cute! Wouldn't they make the cutest gifts for bridesmaids or flower girls?

Music that's new to me.

Music and I used to have a really strong relationship, but in recent months we have spent some time apart. While I was busy with my rapidly expanding uterus and routine morning dry heaves, music kept on truckin' without me. The bad news is that I may have missed some really sweet new sounds. The good news is that I now have a ton of new music to catch up on, starting with a couple of my new favorite artists Bon Iver and Lana Del Rey.  Perhaps these two could be a nice addition to your impending nuptials? How beautiful is Lana, by the way?

"Don't Call it a Comeback"

I am back! It seems like forever since my last post in July and let me tell you, fine readers, I dearly miss this blog. The reason for my disappearing act has much to do with my expecting my first child in 3 weeks! A much delayed announcement of this exciting time, I know, but as they say "better late than never" right? Or something like that anyway. Now that I am on maternity leave I finally have some free time to share some beautiful wedding inspiration with you all. So let me begin by sharing some beautiful finds I have been coveting around the web.

I am totally crushing on lace this season and I absolutely L-O-V-E this lace bolero from Chaviano Couture featured on Southern Weddings Magazine.

These pink champagne cake pops are simply glamorous.

Cherry blossoms like these from Martha Stewart are starting to show up outside my window. Spring is coming!

I saw this movie this afternoon and could not resist including this adorable wedding clip from The Vow. I am such a sucker for mushy movies like this! Plus, her veil and dress are darling!

Bohemian Inspiration Shoot from A Girl and A Camera

I love camping and I absolutely adore weddings, so naturally this photo shoot from Jennifer of A Girl + A Camera Photography caught my eye! The colors, the rustic tent and the intimacy all make this shoot just perfect. See the full shoot here.

Style Those Locks

I am obsessed with finding new ways to display my hair. Whether you're a bridesmaid, bride, mother of the bride or wedding guest, you are going to want to show off your tresses on the big day. Here are some looks that I am loving right now...

The Art of Gift Giving

It can be difficult to think of the perfect gifts to give to your bridal party. I mean, how many candles can one person really have? As the bride, I am sure that you want to to give all of your attendants something special, but eventually the practicality sets in and you are forced to find gifts that you can actually afford. For my own wedding this was a huge challenge with 10 bridesmaids and 12 groomsmen. Eventually I got creative and found a way to give our bridal party gifts they bragged to their other friends about. To help you consider some budget gift options, here is a collection of some unique gifts that are all under $30. And I adore all of them!

Gals: BefoRE Sun Made In the Shade Self-Tanner $28 from Arbonne; Pretty Cupcake Kit $19.99 from ModCloth; Chalk-A-Doodle Coasters $12 from Francesca's Collections; Castle Key Bottle Opener $12 from Anthropologie

Guys: Mustache Bandages $7 from Urban Outfitters; You The Man Mug $15 from Lenny Mud; Leather Pocket Phone Case $18.95 from The Fig Leaf; The Mustache Grower's Guide $9.99 from ModCloth
